During MWC 2021, Oppo will introduce ‘The Flash Initiative’ for cars and public spaces and Wireless Air Charging for remote wireless charging.
Normally around this period the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2021) would take place in Barcelona. Due to corona, the annual telecom fair has been postponed to June. In Shanghai, China, MWC will continue this year. One of the brands present is Oppo. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has introduced a new fast charging project called ‘The Flash Initiative’. The company is also demonstrating a new form of wireless charging; Wireless Air Charging.
The Flash Initiative is based on Oppo’s VOOC fast charging technology, which is also used in the Reno in Find smartphone models of the brand are applied. Companies can purchase a license to use Oppo’s fast charging technology for new types of devices.
Car manufacturer Volkswagen, charging manufacturer Anker and chip manufacturer NXP Semiconductors have already shown interest. These collaborations should ensure that you can charge your electronic devices in different places, regardless of whether you are at home, in the car or in a public space.
Oppo fast charging technologies
Oppo has set up a fast-charging zone at MWC Shanghai, where visitors can get acquainted with various charging products of the company. Think of the 125W charger, which can fully charge a 4,000 mAh phone battery in just 20 minutes.
The wireless 65W AirVOOC fast charger can also be admired at the fair, which charges the same battery in just 30 minutes. Both products were announced in the summer of 2020. In addition, various products from partners that use OPPO’s technologies are shown.
5G CPE Omni router
Oppo has also set up a zone dedicated to ‘Smart Home of the Future’. This space shows how the company uses IoT products to better connect smart devices in the home. The unique 5G CPE Omni, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF System, is central to this. This router is capable of converting 5G signals into stable, lightning-fast WiFi connections via two proprietary antenna systems.
