Matthew Keenan did not want to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. Then he became infected with it, had to go into an artificial coma and now died.
“If I could turn back the clock, I would do it right now” and “I wish I had the vaccination”. This is what the Briton Matthew Keenan said when he was diagnosed with a corona infection at the beginning of July.
Previously, Keenan had made negative comments about the corona vaccination. He described himself as an opponent of vaccinations. The ardent Liverpool FC supporter said shortly after being infected that he feels like he’s been run over by a truck. He complained of a fever and chills. “I’ve never felt this bad in my entire life – and I find it only gets worse,” added Keenan. “I feel miserable. The coronavirus is real”.
Father and soccer coach
Keenan’s condition has worsened over the past few days. His life hung by a thread, the doctors put him into an artificial coma. On Monday, Keenan lost his fight against the coronavirus. He died at the age of 34 in West Yorkshire Hospital in Bradford. The “Daily Mail”. Keenan was a father and coached a soccer club in his spare time.
Leanne Cheyne, a respiratory specialist at West Yorkshire Hospital, shared a post on Twitter on July 11th. Keenan had given her permission to do this:
She wrote: “Matthew was a self-declared vaccine skeptic until he became infected with Covid. If he could turn back time, he would do it”. Specialist Cheyne specifically warned: “Our sickest patients are unvaccinated and under 40. Matthew is fighting for his life. Save yours.” Cheney put the Hasthags #GetVaccinated and #GrabAJab under the tweet. Translated it means “get vaccinated” and “get a vaccination”.
In addition to the tweet, the doctor published a picture showing Cheney in the hospital, connected to a ventilator. A few weeks after this recording, Keenan died. One of his best friends said in a moving post: “Matthew was a great father, a great friend and an unbeatable coach”. He could not believe that his friend was no longer there: “He was the most lovable guy I have ever met”.
