Météo-France has placed five departments, Finistère, Manche, Seine-maritime, Somme and Pas-de-Calais, on orange alert “waves-submersion” from 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
According to the meteorological body, in a context of high tides, “the conjunction of particularly high sea levels and very strong waves require special attention”.
“The active disturbance associated with the depression shifts to the English Channel then to the Bay of Biscay during the day. During the afternoon this Sunday, the south-westerly winds will strengthen in the English Channel. Also, they amplify the strong waves coming from the South-West on the English Channel “, adds Météo-France.
The end of this orange vigilance is scheduled for Monday 3:00 am, according to forecasters.
The high tide coefficients are 107 Sunday morning, 109 Sunday evening and 109 Monday morning.
