Were you thinking of updating your PC? You should know that now some of your components could be more expensive. What happens is that computer parts – such as graphics cards and motherboards – went up in price by U.S.
How it reports The New York Times, the trade war between the United States and China ended in new tariffs for products from this Asian country. This means that components of computers manufactured in this country will have a higher price as brands pass this cost on to their consumers.
These new commercial taxes caused price increases of between 7.5% and 25%. It is worth mentioning that the percentage of the increase depends on the type of product in question.
ASUS recognizes that there will be increases
At the moment, the vast majority of companies that make components in China have not explained what will happen to these increases. One of the few that has clarified the situation with its consumers is ASUS.
Through a statement, ASUS confirmed that its products will increase their recommended price. This as a response to the increases in component costs; operating costs; logistics activities and new taxes.
“We work closely with our logistics partners to minimize price increases. We appreciate that they continue to do business with us and support us as we navigate this period of unprecedented market change, ”explained ASUS.
To give you an idea, Kotaku reports that the ASUS RTX 3090 is now offered for $ 1979 USD, when it was originally priced at $ 1799. This represents an increase of $ 200 USD.
