“Our customers shed a tear when they heard the news”

Gui and Heidi, 56, have made a heavy decision: they are leaving their chip shop, to the chagrin of their customers.

The Friethoek, a well-known chip shop in Ghent, will soon be just a sweet memory for Guy and Heidi, the managers. The couple had to make a heavy decision: they left the chip shop for personal reasons. “Many customers shed tears when we tell them the bad news,” Heidi told our colleagues at Newspaper.

After their departure, on September 18, Lindsey and Nathalie will take over the reins. “I wish them a lot of success,” says Heidi, who says she doesn’t want to go back there right away.
