Paolo Falzone remains in prison

The motorist is being prosecuted for manslaughter and involuntary bodily injury resulting in death in the context of a road accident. According to the prosecution, there is no requalification of the facts on the agenda but this part of the file could evolve according to the investigation.

A week ago, the Tournai council chamber decided to continue the preventive detention of Paolo F. under an electronic bracelet. A request made by counsel for the accused, Frank Discepoli. However, the prosecution had appealed against this decision, which extended Paolo F.’s stay in prison under the arrest warrant issued on March 22. The indictment chamber has now confirmed that he remains behind bars.

On March 20, the day of the Strépy-Braquegnies carnival, the driver returned with his car to the carnival procession in the early morning, killing six people and injuring around thirty others.
