The pastor of a Zambian church (Africa) was buried alive at his request by his parishioners, in an attempt to demonstrate that he had the ability to emulate the resurrection of Jesus Christ; however, three days later, he was found dead.
The man, identified as James Sakara, 22, convinced members of his Church of Sion congregation in the city of Chidiza to dig a grave where he would be buried with his hands tied. Although at first his followers did not agree, the confidence of the man to return from the dead was such that they ended up following his instructions.
72 hours have passed since then and, seeing that the pastor did not fulfill his promise to be resurrected, the members of his church unearthed him and found the body. According to local media, the faithful tried unsuccessfully “a series of spiritual exercises to resuscitate him.”
After learning what happened, the local authorities have filed charges against the three men who buried the pastor, one is in custody and the other two are currently being searched and captured by the police.
