Karachi: In the third and final match of the Twenty20 cricket series against Pakistan, a huge score for India. Batting first, Im?nd scored 221 runs for the loss of three wickets. Harry Brooks (81 off 35 balls with five sixes and eight fours) and Ben Duckett (69 off 42 balls with one six and eight fours) smashed Pakistan. Both of them put on an unbeaten partnership of 139 runs for the fourth wicket.
After winning the toss, Pakistan skipper Babar left Azam to bat. Opener Phil Salt (eight) and David Malan (14 off 15 balls) disappointed. Salt was dismissed by Mohammad Hasnain and Malan by Usman Qadir. The rain of runs started with opener Will Jacks (40 off 22 balls) and Ben Duckett. Usman Qadir put Jax in the hands of Muhammad Nawaz and broke the partnership. Among the Pak bowlers, Shanawaz Dahani conceded 62 runs in four overs and became the most prolific.
Pakistan won by 10 wickets in the second Twenty20 match. Imand, who batted first, scored 199 runs for the loss of five wickets. Batting back, Pakistan scored the winning run with three balls to spare. Score: 199 for five, Pakistan 203 for no wicket in 19.3 overs. Captain and opener Babar Azam (110 off 66 balls with five sixes and 11 fours) and opener and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan’s half-century (88 off 51 balls with four sixes and five fours). They recorded a record opening partnership in Twenty20. Last year’s record of 197 runs against South Africa in Centurion is legendary. In the 2017 Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 184 runs without losing a wicket against Gujarat Lions, the best record in Twenty20. In 2016, New Zealand chased down 169 runs against Pakistan without losing a wicket. Pakistan is the first team to chase 200 runs against India in men’s Twenty20. In the match held in Bristol in 2018, India chased down 199 runs and won the history.
Babar Azam is the star of the match. This is the second Twenty20 century of the Pakistan captain. Babar also became the second fastest batsman to score 8,000 runs in T20Is. Virat Kohli was in the second position till then. Kohli took 243 innings while Babar needed only 218 innings. The record is held by West Indies legend Chris Gayle. Gayle scored 8000 runs in 213 innings.
