A dramatic fire occurred this Saturday evening in a four-sided house in Deux-Acren. The flames were visible from afar and the firefighters were unable to do anything to save the occupant of the premises: according to our information, it is a man aged 56 or 57 who suffered from a disability. .
The firemen received the call around 8:30 p.m. and immediately went to the scene with two tanks, two pumpers and a ladder under the orders of Captain Stasik. When they arrived, the house was already totally on fire and part of the roof had even partially collapsed. They fought for more than two hours against the flames before they could attempt to enter the house. It was there that they made the gruesome discovery. They found the dead body of the victim.
We do not know, for the moment, what could have caused the fire of this single-storey dwelling in Deux-Acren (Lessines). The investigation should determine that. The fire, in any case, caused a stir throughout the neighborhood.
