The state attorney, Daniel Soria, has already filed a criminal complaint against Castillo for the unconstitutional measure adopted.

Castillo remains in the prefecture of Lima, where the Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, is also located, who is investigating him together with the Special Team led by Marita Barreto, in the context of alleged crimes of corruption.

The Peruvian Congress dismissed Pedro Castillo this Wednesday for “moral incapacity”, ignoring the president’s decision to dissolve Parliament and reorganize the justice system.

Castillo’s removal was approved by 101 votes out of a total of 130 congressmen, in his third attempt to remove him from power since he assumed the presidency 16 months ago.

Hours before, Castillo dictated this Wednesday to temporarily dissolve Congress and establish a national emergency government and ordered a nationwide curfew starting this Wednesday from 10:00 p.m. local time (03:00 GMT on Thursday).
