The world changed on the morning of September 11, 2001 when four planes hijacked by members of Al Qaeda were used to attack symbolic buildings of US power, 149 minutes of terror and chaos that caused the death of 2,996 people. It was the largest attack on US soil and whose consequences last, as evidenced by the controversial departure from Afghanistan, a country invaded after the tragedy to overthrow the Taliban regime that gave shelter to Osama Bin Laden.
