Pierre Guthrie (Scuderia AlphaTauri) talked about his enthusiasm for the 2022 F1 Round 17 Singapore GP.

“We’re one point behind seventh in the Constructors’ Championship, so our target for the last six races of the year is to at least move up as far as possible and that looks very tight,” commented Pierre Gasly.

“It’s not impossible to catch up with Alfa Romeo in sixth, but it may be difficult. It’s not easy, but we need to aim to score points as often as possible with both cars.”

“That doesn’t change our approach to each race weekend of getting the most out of the car and doing everything possible as a team.”

“We are coming to the last part of the second half of the season, a very different type of circuit that we don’t know much about, starting in Singapore and Japan where we haven’t raced in a few years and not too close to all our non-European homes. There is also

“So anything can happen. In the last triple header we scored points in two of the three races, but we need to continue this positive trend that started at Spa.”

“The last part of the year starts at Singapore, one of my favorite tracks. The last time I raced in 2019, I finished in the points. Lots of corners, rhythm, very twisty and technical. It’s a track, it’s a complicated street circuit where you can’t make mistakes, so it’s a course that requires concentration.”

“There will also be an aero update for this race, so we’ll see what that brings in terms of performance.”
