PlayStation Plus: Revised offer gets concrete June launch date

Sony recently announced a comprehensive overhaul of the PlayStation Plus offering in order to better position it as a competitor to the popular Xbox Game Pass. Now there is also a concrete start date for the local European market.

Of the comprehensive remodeling of PlayStation Plus also integrates the previous separate streaming offer PlayStation Now into the subscription and offers you a much more extensive game catalog at no additional cost. While the basic package is offered in much the same way, there are now two additional tiers of access to PS4 and PS5 titles as well as numerous classics from previous PlayStation times. An overview of the three stages can be found further down in this message.

But when will the modified offer actually start? So far, there has always only been general talk of June. Sony has now confirmed the specific start dates via the PlayStation Blog. According to this, it will start in Asia in May, before Japan and then North/Central/South America will follow. Unfortunately, we have to be patient the longest in Europe, because here the start date is June 22, 2022.

  • Japan – scheduled for June 1, 2022
