Montreal police have found the vehicle allegedly used by the alleged perpetrator of the savage assault on police officer Sanjay Vig a week ago in northern Montreal.

The red Hyundai Elantra car was located Thursday morning, on Jean-Brillon Street, in the borough of LaSalle, according to our sources. But at the request of the SPVM, theQMI Agency and VAT News decided not to release this information immediately due to “very important investigative issues”.
Following the discovery of this car (a decisive piece of evidence in this investigation), the police officers decided to set up their mobile command post in the LaSalle sector, in particular with the aim of inciting people who had seen something thing to meet them.
Expertises will be carried out on every square centimeter of the vehicle in order to find any evidence that could help the police to trace back to the suspect.
The violent assault on the experienced police officer occurred on the evening of January 28, on Boulevard Crémazie Ouest, in the Parc-Extension district.
Officer Sanjay Vig had just issued a ticket to Mamadi Fara Camara when he was assaulted from behind by an individual. Armed with a metal bar, the latter attacked the policeman in the head, before disarming him and firing in his direction.
Wounded in the head, Agent Vig managed to take refuge in an apartment located on Avenue de l’Épée.
The perpetrator of this attempted murder has still not been found, as has the police officer’s service weapon.
