Police say they have no information about a possible attack against Petro – Investigation – Justice

In the response of the Police to that complaint, it is indicated that, although the existence of any plan against the candidate Petro has not been evidenced, the public information disclosed today reported to the Prosecutor’s Office “in order to verify, from its jurisdiction, the complaints made there, including the alleged threat from the criminal group ‘La Cordillera’.”

Likewise, it is stated in the statement that the Directorate of Protection and Special Services contacted the Head of the Petro Scheme “to carry out the necessary coordination in case an adjustment to the measures of which the candidate is a beneficiary is required.”

Likewise, the Public Force indicated that the candidate and senator “has one of the most robust security schemes in the country, which includes an important component of the National Police and the National Protection Unit. For his part, the Minister of the Interior, Daniel Palacios, referred to the pronouncements of the presidential candidate Gustavo Petro’s campaign. He said that both Petro and his vice-presidential formula, Francia Márquez, have some of the most robust security schemes “that any candidate has today in the presidential race.”

And he added: “After having consulted with the military forces, with the State intelligence agencies, no plan has been revealed that corresponds to the organized criminal group of ‘La Cordillera’, which operates in the department of Risaralda.
