Francis has reassured his closeness to the people of Cuba and Florida suffering from the effects of the devastating cyclone.
“The Lord welcome the victims, give consolation and hope to those who suffer and nourish your commitment to solidarity,” the Pope said at the Angelus this Sunday. He also prays for those killed and injured in the riots that followed a soccer match in Malang, Indonesia. The authorities there spoke of 174 dead.
