A Microsoft event is scheduled to take place in spring. There will be new hardware to be seen there, because Microsoft will update the Surface family. A report now says that there will be a new Surface Book 3 and the Surface Go 2. No experiments and no major design overhauls are expected.
For the Surface Book 3, Microsoft will switch internal specifications to 10th generation Intel processors and Nvidia GTX 16 ** series GPUs, according to people familiar with the company’s plans. A surface book with a 15 inch diagonal could even be characterized by an option for graphics cards of the Quadro series. It is also claimed that Microsoft will increase the maximum RAM configuration from 16 GB to 32 GB.
According to the report, Microsoft should proceed similarly to the Surface Go 2 as with the first generation. There are likely to be low-end Intel chips, probably the Pentium Gold, but there should also be an option for a Core M device. Rumors that the company is using a Qualcomm 7c chipset do not seem to be accurate at this time.
Microsoft doesn’t seem to want experiments in this regard, which some may find a pity – others may not. At least the company has already proven that you think much further – see Duo and Neo.
