Prasanth speaks about leaving Kerala Blasters FC and opens upon new season expectations.

Kerala Blasters FC’s Malayalam superstar K Prashant left the club just a few days before the start of the ninth season of the Indian Super League (ISL). Prashant parted ways with the club and later joined ISL club Chennaiyin FC. K Prasanth’s decision to leave Blasters came as a shock to Blasters fans. There were reports that Prashant was leaving the club to get more playing time, but neither the player nor the club released any information in this regard.

Now that the ninth season of ISL has started, Prashanth has opened his mind about the reasons for leaving Kerala Blasters. Prashant revealed these things in a special interview given to Asianet News the other day.

Behind the decision to leave Kerala Blasters

I can never tell the media the full reason for that. Blasters had less game time. I am not in the future plans of the club. That is the reason why 70-80% leave the club. As far as any footballer is concerned, they are happy wherever they play. I have it. That is why such a decision was taken with mutual understanding. I was ready for that and so was the club,” Prashant said.

What are the expectations for the new season, says Prashant

He was with Blasters for six years. It was my big wish to go out and play. I am okay here (at Chennai FC) even if there are some troubles of moving out of the comfort zone of Blasters. Quickly became comfortable with everyone here. Prashant said.

How did you end up at Chennai FC?

Reached Chennai at the last minute. I was with Blasters for about a month and a half. Such a conversation took place at the last minute and such a sudden decision was made. Chennai needs a winger and the coach there is interested in me. So the contract was signed,” said Prashant.

Did you decide to leave Blasters thinking about the future?

Look, I’m not a thinker of what will happen in two years, what will happen in three years. I only think about today. Score goals and assists for the team. That goal is always there. Personally, that one more thing is to focus and play according to the needs of the team and the expectations of the coach,” the Malayali player stopped.
