MManchester City are being prosecuted for repeatedly breaching Premier League financial regulations, Premier League organizers announced on Monday.

“In accordance with Premier League rule W.82.1, the Premier League confirms that it has today referred a number of alleged breaches of Premier League rules by Manchester City Football Club (Club) to a Committee under Premier League Rule W.3.4,” the body wrote in its statement.

A total of four different counts stand for various offenses from the 2009-2010 season to the 2017-2018 season. The Cityzens are also being prosecuted for breaching rules requiring clubs to cooperate with the Premier League and assist in its investigations since December 2018.

An independent Premier League commission will now look into the case and will reveal its sanction at the end of the hearings which will take place behind closed doors.
