AS: We’re making notable strides in battery technology,driven by electric vehicles and personal electronics. Solid-state batteries show promise for enhanced safety and longevity. Plus, pumped hydro and compressed air storage are heavylifters in bulk energy storage.

Thoughts on Nuclear’s Role in the Mix

A: There’s renewed interest in nuclear power due to its low greenhouse gas emissions. Do you see it playing a significant role in a sustainable energy future?

AS: Indeed, I think nuclear can be part of the mix, especially with advancements like Molten Salt Reactors and Small Modular Reactors. But it needs stringent safety precautions and responsible waste management. Expansion should be considered on a case-by-case basis.
