President El-Sisi: The state postponed the increase in electricity prices to relieve citizens

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed that the state decided to postpone the implementation of the electricity price increase for the third time, in order to ease the burdens on Egyptians as a result of the repercussions of the global economic crises.

During the inauguration of the Integrated Complex for Animal and Dairy Production in Sadat City in Menoufia, President El-Sisi said that he had previously spoken with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, on the issue of electricity prices and the implementation of the third program for the new pricing, directing his speech to the Prime Minister and saying: In electricity, you did not make a decision that you are supplying it. This is the third time that we postpone the program due to circumstances so that there will be no burden on people.

During his speech, President El-Sisi explained the beneficiaries of the postponement decision, noting that 17 million subscribers will benefit from the decision. The number of beneficiaries of the decision does not mean that the state “wishes” on its people, but he stressed that the state is trying as much as possible to reduce the repercussions on the citizens and reduce the size of the burden. We try as much as possible to clear the bill of burdens on people as much as possible… as much as possible and appropriate.”

President Sisi indicated that the program to increase electricity prices has been postponed for the third time as a result of international and local conditions, bearing in mind that the cost of electricity production increased as a result of these repercussions as well, and the increase in oil prices globally. more times than before.”

President El-Sisi made it clear that his speech was aimed at making citizens aware of the details of what was happening, and President El-Sisi directed his speech to the Prime Minister, “With Dr. Mustafa, to defend himself and I am with him. From 3 to 6 dollars..and today we are talking about 20-21 dollars..and electricity was according to the old price, it was sold for less than the cost at that time, which cost 4 dollars..but today, when it costs 21 dollars, how much is it?

President El-Sisi added: “What is recorded by the state is the utmost need to maintain prices…and preserve the conditions of low-income people,” noting that energy prices in other countries increased at high rates, which led to an accelerating increase in the prices of goods and services, consequently, which raised inflation rates. In these countries, the majority of which enjoy a strong and stable economy, but suffered from inflation, while Egypt did not do that, but rather tried to maintain price ratios within the limits of possible.
