preview 22538 fixes annoying Explorer.exe crash

Since yesterday evening, testers registered in the Dev channel of the Insiders program can retrieve the build 22538.

It does not revolutionize the use of the system, but brings a welcome fix for a painful problem: a crash of Explorer.exe as soon as we used the keyboard controls for the volume.

For those who missed it, this will be an opportunity to discover the new volume display on the system, since the old sidebar – introduced in Windows 8 – has given way to a small translucent frame in the center at the bottom. , just above the taskbar.

The new build also strengthens Voice access, a function added a few pre-releases before and which renews the control of the computer by voice. For example, it is now compatible with the new virtual keyboard, which will be much more practical for entering email addresses, phone numbers, emojis, symbols and more.

We note a few other improvements, such as the translucent background of the Alt + Tab which recovers the accent color, recovery for speech-to-text to recover language packs from the Store to be updated, access to the screen calibration in the HDR panel or compatibility with HTTPS boot for second generation Hyper-V virtual machines.

Anyone can access these previews. Please note that the Dev channel offers a new build every week on average, with frequent bugs. The Beta channel is more stable, although there are fewer new features. In any case, it is not recommended to try one or the other on a machine to be used every day.
