The price of dollar it closed slightly lower on Wednesday, despite the global strength of the currency and the landscape of doubts sown by the scandal of the secret vaccination of 487 people.
The exchange rate the session ended at S / 3,652, a slight decrease of 0.02% compared to Tuesday’s close at S / 3,653, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR).
So far this year, the greenback accumulates an increase of 0.91% compared to the end of 2020, at S / 3,619.
On the other hand, in the parallel market or the main exchange houses, the dollar was sold at S / 3,665 and bought at S / 3,640, according to the portal cuantoestaeldolar.pe.
Globally, the dollar was recovering from a three-week low that it scored the day before, in response to expectations of a greater recovery in the economy, according to Reuters.
The US currency rose against underperforming currencies, hitting a five-month high against the yen as US Treasury yields jumped on prospects for recovery and a possible acceleration in inflation.
