As everywhere in France, fuel prices have been falling since the end of June, returning to the level of the end of February. Among the cheapest stations for diesel, in Charente, we find in second position the Super U of Villebois, Rouillac and Montmoreau: 1.725€, 1.732€ and 1.736€.

Discount of 30 cents in September
As for the SP98, it now stands at €1.76 in the cheapest station in Charente for this fuel, at the Super U in Villebois. On the second step of the podium, we find the Super U of Rouillac (1,762€) and the Leclerc of Cognac (1,769€).
At the Super U in Villebois, the price of a liter of SP 98 has fallen by 23 cents in one month. The liter amounted to €1.992 on July 16th.
These decreases are explained by a drop in oil prices. After soaring at the start of the year due to the recovery in demand with the end of the confinements and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, prices fell by more than 20% in two and a half months.
Prices have continued to fall lately against a backdrop of a slowdown in the Chinese economy and the possibility of an agreement with Iran on the nuclear issue, which would allow the return to the market of Iranian production.
Note that these prices still include the discount of 18 cents applied by the Government since April 1st. Before this measure, the price of diesel had peaked at over €2.15. From September, another government discount is planned. It will amount to 30 cents since a further rise in oil prices is expected by specialists. In November-December, the discount will be 10 cents.
However, prices continue to rise sharply over the long term. In early September 2021, at the Super U station in Villebois, the price of a liter of diesel was €1.35. That of SP98 at €1,543.

Finally, concerning the Super ethanol E-85, it is at the Carrefour de Soyaux that it is the least expensive in our department, amounting to 0.665€. A lower rate since the beginning of the summer since in this station, it amounted to 0.869 on June 25. When prices spike, this fuel appeared as an alternative to save money.
