Princess Victoria: Tears on TV

For two years, the film producer Karin af Klintberg (50) was allowed to accompany the Swedish king in his work – and as the first journalist ever! The result is the documentary “Kungen” (in German: “King”), which gives profound insights behind the palace walls. And although the film won’t be released until February 24, 2023, it’s already causing a stir before then. Because of course not only the king himself worked, but also his family around Queen Silvia (79) and Princess Victoria on the documentation.

In the conversation about the Swedish succession to the throne, the crown princess is said to have even shed tears, as the news portal “Hänt” reports. Speaking to Karin af Klintberg, Victoria is said to have become particularly emotional as she thought about the day she will inherit the throne. The director is said to have reported this in an interview with the Swedish magazine “Expressen”, to which “Hänt” refers. Because Victoria can only become queen if her father, King Carl Gustaf, dies. In her family, however, one would not talk about it, revealed the crown princess.

“As well as [Prinzessin Victoria] and I sat there with tears in our eyes,” recalls af Klintberg. “It’s never easy to think about the death of your parents, and you don’t like doing it. And in her case, she finds herself in ministry when she is in the midst of grief and a loved one has just died.”
