Prosecutors summon suspects from the incumbent director of the Ministry of Industry and … 11 hours of research

The prosecution, which is investigating the so-called ‘Ministry of Industry’s Black List’, summoned the incumbent director of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to investigate for about 11 hours.

The Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office summoned and investigated the head of the Ministry of Industry A as a suspect from 9:20 am to 8:15 pm today (29th).

Director A served as a manager in charge of personnel-related duties within the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in September 2017, when the heads of organizations under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy were resigning after the inauguration of the current government.

The prosecution is expected to speed up the investigation into blacklist allegations as the prosecution begins investigating suspects against high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Industry.

In January 2019, the Liberty Korea Party, the predecessor of the People’s Power, raised allegations that the presidents of four KEPCO subsidiaries resigned under pressure from superiors from the Ministry of Industry, and accused four people, including former Minister Baek Un-gyu and Director A, for abuse of power.

On the 25th of last month, the Prosecutors’ Office seized and searched the nuclear power plant-related department of the Ministry of Industry and started an investigation, and then called the heads of the agencies who resigned at the time as witnesses for investigation.
