A full term birth! Announced in October 2019 amid the euphoria of the global growth of the automotive market, the merger between PSA and Fiat Chrysler takes the final step in a completely different climate. After months of an unprecedented crisis, which plunged global sales by 17% in 2020, the timetable promised by the two groups has been miraculously respected.

This Monday, the shareholders of the two companies were invited to participate remotely in extraordinary general meetings. On the menu: endorse the merger project that will give birth to Stellantis, the name of the new group, which will rank fourth in the ranking of the world’s largest manufacturers, behind Volkswagen, Toyota and the Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance. Those of PSA largely approved it by voting with more than 99.8% the three resolutions concerning the birth of Stellantis whose effective date of birth must be revealed soon.
