PSG-OM: the Marseillais’ response to the banners of the Ultras Paris Collective – Foot – L1 – OM

In the night from Saturday to Sunday, an anti-OM banner and a second insulting towards Dimitri Payet had been displayed in the streets of Paris. The first brandished in front of the Eiffel Tower referred to the scarcity of the Marseillais against PSG: “PSG-OM, nine years of organized gang sodomy”.

The second against Dimitri Payet and deployed in front of the Parc des Princes: “Dimitri, the only thing you raised is Ludivine”. An additional provocation in response to the video of a Marseille player’s chambering against Paris Saint-Germain following their defeat in the Champions League final, lost against Bayern Munich (0-1), on August 23 .

In the wake of the final whistle and Marseille’s victory at the Parc des Princes this Sunday evening (1-0), Olympique de Marseille was keen to reply, on its Twitter account, by a hijacking of image and text of the banner in front of the Eiffel Tower: “PSG-OM is not the capital, it is Marseille baby”.

A message also relayed by some Marseille players, including Boubacar Kamara, Maxime Lopez or Jordan Amavi. A line taken up en masse by Marseille fans also on Twitter which refers to the song “Champs-Élysées” by the Marseille rapper SCH where the phrase “It’s Marseille baby” is repeated several times.
