Eric Lamela (Sevilla), who won the Puskas Award for the player who scored the best goal last year, shared the joy with former teammate Son Heung-min (Tottenham).

The FIFA Football Awards 2021 were held at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland on the 18th (Korean time).

Lamela won the ‘Puskas Award’ this year.

Lamela was selected as the player who scored the best goal last year by shaking the net with a picturesque Lavona kick shot in the North London derby against Arsenal in the 2020-21 season while playing for Tottenham.

Tottenham drew attention by producing the Puskas Award for the second year in a row, following Son Heung-min receiving the 2020 Puskas Award.

Son Heung-min won the Puskas Award at the 2020 FIFA Football Awards for scoring after breaking through the 70m dribble against Burnley.

Tottenham Hotspur congratulated ‘Heung-Min Son of the Puskas Award in 2020 and Lamela, the winner of the Puskas Award in 2021,’ through SNS on the same day.

Lamela shared a picture of her rejoicing with Son Heung-min and applauded her, saying, “Awesome Son Heung-min.”

Lamela, who played for Tottenham since 2013, transferred to Sevilla in the Spanish La Liga through a trade with Brian Hill ahead of the 2021-22 season.
