Doha: Qatar Petroleum, the Qatari government’s petroleum company, will be renamed. The company will now be known as Qatar Energy, officials said. The company first announced this in an email to employees. Qatari Energy Minister Saad Sheridan al-Kaabi shared a video on Twitter announcing the move. The minister made the official announcement at a press conference.

Your Energy Transition Partner is the company’s new motto. The Minister also unveiled a new logo to replace the old logo of Qatar Petroleum. The minister said the new change is aimed at energy efficiency and environmentally friendly energy production. The new change was also evident on the company’s official Twitter handle. The new Twitter account is called Qatar Energy instead of Qatar Petroleum.
The company is expected to make significant changes to its operations and priorities as part of Qatar Vision 2030. The company will focus more on the production of natural gas than petroleum.

Observers say Qatar’s world leader in LNG production is on the cusp of a new leap in gas production. The name and slogan have also been changed as part of this.
