Qatar Petroleum signs a long-term agreement to supply liquefied gas to a Chinese company

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Petroleum signed a long-term sale and purchase agreement with CNOOC Gas and Energy Trading and Marketing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation, on Wednesday.

According to Qatar Petroleum’s statement, under this agreement, 3.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas will be supplied annually to the Chinese company over a period of 15 years, starting in January 2022..

The agreement was signed by Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, and Wang Dongjin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNOOC, in a ceremony held remotely using video communication technology..

The history of the partnership with China National Offshore Oil Company in the field of LNG dates back to September 2009, when the first shipment of LNG was delivered to the company in China..
