The starters in detail and the opinion of the pros
This ex-protégé of Jean-Pierre Gauvin changed hands after a second place to claim, on April 4 at Chantilly. Winner of a Quinté+ at ParisLongchamp for its first outing under the training of Christophe Escuder, it can still hold its own despite a 7-pound penalty.

“Bobydargent (1) has just won. He stayed well. It is loaded but it remains an interesting chance. »
FREE ELECTRONTrained at Calas by Christophe Escuder, this gelding by Camelot no longer has to prove itself in Quinté+. But he was penalized 3 kilos for his success in a Clodoaldian event on March 10 and has not been able to shine since. Our regret.

“Etron Libre (2) ran well recently at Lyon-Parilly. He is in good shape and should run well. »
Trained in the South-West by François Rohaut, this 5-year-old by Charm Spirit has just signed a first victory in the events, on April 7 on the Deauville fibrée. Also capable of great things on the grass, he can double the bet despite 4 kilos of penalty. Our favourite.

“Kahuna (3) is in full possession of his means currently. It has just won two handicaps including a Quinté+ recently at the PSF at Deauville. It is not obvious before the shot, it must confirm at this value. »
ANODINE PRINCEWinner of a Quinté+ at Val d’Or last autumn, this protege of Antoine de Watrigant has been disappointing quite a bit since then. But he completed the podium from a handicap at Toulouse on his penultimate outing and was no slouch in a recent event at ParisLongchamp.

“Prince Anodin (4) is in good shape. The track profile will help. He does not have a big margin in weight but the horse is very good so we are going to the races. »
Confirmed at Borély where he has two successes, this son of Anodin does not enjoy the same success in Quinté+. But it has never been so well placed on the scale of values and is not out of the question for places.

“Cleod’Or (5) ran in three Quinté+ without being able to shine. It returns to this category with a slight drop in weight. He has already done well at Borély. Retaining it or not remains a matter of impression. »
Endowed with a good change of gear, this resident of Maxime Césandri has just returned to success on the PSF of La Touques. Not ridiculous before during its first two attempts in Quinté+, it has its say for places despite a 5-pound penalty.

KING MOTIFTrained at Calas by Jérôme Reynier, this gelding by Motivator returned to success in February at Cagnes-sur-Mer. But it has just been very disappointing in a claim from Cannes and we preferred candidates providing better guarantees.

“King Motif (7) has no program in 37 value. He’s a bit screwed up. We run this event because there is nothing else to run. It prefers softer tracks but looks very good. He will wait and try to come and finish. »
This third advantage of Christophe Escuder is regular in value 36, especially in events. Just beaten in this event last year and confirmed with Franck Blondel, it should take an active part in the final packaging.

AZACHOPWinner of this event last year (in value 36.5), this son of Muhaymin has four successes at Borély. Recent fourth in a race with conditions on this track, he is a possible spoilsport in value 36.

“Azachop (9) is the defending champion. It returned to the value that had allowed it to win this race last year. He loves this racetrack. It must be retained in Quinté+. »
Irreproachable in three attempts at Borély, this resident of Stéphane Labate has just signed a second victory there, in a handicap. Penalized by 5 pounds, she can still use her drawing ability.

“Wellington Rose (10) is very good. She is on top at the moment and is doing well at the racetrack. She pulled a good string number. I think she has a good card to play. »
INTERIORTrained by Jérôme Reynier, this second asset of the Seroul colors has just ended in a pleasant way here, in a handicap. The longer distance shouldn’t bother him and underdog fans can look into his candidacy.

“Interior (11) is in the shape of its life. I really like his physical and mental state but, with No. 16 on the line, we will wait. It is to be hoped that they go too fast during the course to come back from behind. »
This girl from Zanzibari remains on two choice performances here even on longer. Although she had failed on her previous outing, in an event, taken 5 pounds down the value scale, she deserves some credit.

“Screenwriter (12) has just won very easily at Marseille-Borély. She was penalized by weight on this victory. Considering what she did that day, I don’t think the shortening of the distance will bother her. It looks impeccable at work and we are therefore trying our luck at a higher level in a Quinté+, where it is capable of performing well, on its form. »
SPORTS CUPIrreproachable in three attempts at Borély, this gelding by Toronado opened his record there during his penultimate outing. Penalized by 7 pounds, he has been less convincing since in a Clodoaldian handicap (6th). Printing case.

“The 2,000 meters of Saint-Cloud were too long last time for Sport Coupé (13). I supplemented it here because it was originally supposed to be heading towards Vichy. But, because of the high temperatures, I preferred to avoid traveling with this somewhat anxious horse. The 2,100 meters are perhaps the end of the world. On a long track, it would be better over the mile but, in Marseille, it is trying. »
Winner of a Quinté+ at the end of the year for 4-year-olds, at Toulouse, this third advantage of Reynier’s training proved disappointing during its two most recent attempts in events. But he will have his aptitude for the Borély track on his side and should not be condemned hastily.

“Champ de Mars (14) inherited a bad number but he has already done well on this route with a number like that. If he manages to have a hidden route, he can certainly make the finish. »
MAD WHIPWinner of a handicap on this track last fall, this 4-year-old by Whipper has just shown a clear return to form (5th). But it risks having a lot to do for its debut in Quinté+, against more hardened rivals, especially since it will not have the heavy going that it likes.
Richard Chotard – Coach:
“I thought I would fall in the second round with Mad Whip (15), so before the shot, it seems complicated. He is in good shape and does Borély well, but he will not have his field. »
