The American R&B singer R. Kelly has been sued again, was revealed Friday by documents from the Chicago court. The singer is said to have abused a minor girl for four years in the late 1990s. The girl would have met him when she was only 14 or 15 years old.
The mention of another alleged victim of R. Kelly has been removed in the new indictment for unclear reasons.
The singer’s lawyer responded to Twitter. He says he is aware of the new charge, but insists that R. Kelly is innocent. “We will continue to fight for him and look forward to the day he is released,” says the lawyer.
Kelly is indicted in New York for extortion and accused of sexual exploitation of minors, abduction and forced labor.
He was also charged in Chicago for, among other things, the possession of child pornography. The R&B singer is currently being held captive in that city. There are also cases against the singer in the states of Illinois and Minnesota.
The R&B singer has always said to be innocent.
The trial against Kelly in Chicago is expected to start in April and will take around three weeks. The New York business starts in May.
