Veronique Rabiot, mother of France and Juventus player Adrien Rabiot, sparked controversy after the recent confrontation of the “roosters” in the European Nations Cup, after she attacked the families of other players such as Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba.
France, the runners-up of the last edition and the 2018 World Cup champion, was eliminated from Euro 2020 from the round of 16 after losing to Switzerland on penalties last Monday night, after the original and extra games ended in a 3-3 draw.
According to the French network (RMC), Veronique Rabiot attacked the players’ families, as she asked Pogba’s brothers why he lost the ball so much in the match, while she told Mbappe’s father that Kylian should be less arrogant, and the player’s mother also attacked journalists because of their position on Mbappe.
Rabiot was upset by Pogba’s loss of the ball in the 90th minute, which led to Switzerland’s equalizing goal, and a heated discussion began between them, before coach Didier Deschamps intervened to calm things down.
After that, Veronique was subjected to sharp criticism in the French media, and there were those who considered her a reason to weaken the unity of the French rank.
Rabiot’s mother refused Barcelona
Veronique Rabiot is her son’s agent, and it was she who contributed to his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus in the summer of 2019.
In the last months of the 2018-2019 season, there were negotiations between Barcelona and Rabiot, represented by his mother, but the latter made things difficult for the Catalan club.
At the time, Rabiot’s mother demanded 10 million euros in exchange for signing the contract with Barca, in addition to his annual salary of 10 million euros, in addition to 5 million euros in variables.
