Rainbow event! The preparatory committee for World Pride 2025 Taiwan announced the end of the influence of the dragon.
On Aug. 12, AFP reported that the organizers of the LGBTQ+ celebration of World Pride 2025 Taiwan (LGBTQ+) have announced the end of the event.

After Taiwan was chosen by a group of LGBTQ+ human rights groups or Interpride. to host such an event in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan. This will be the first such event in Asia.
The announcement of the event’s termination came after Kaohsiung’s organizers were suddenly requested to remove the word “Taiwan” and replace it with “Kaohsiung”. It was found that it would affect the interests of LGBTQ+ people in Taiwan as well as disrespect Taiwan. Therefore, the event was cancelled.
Taiwan is the first area in Asia to have legal recognition of free marriage. The latest developments are in line with the Chinese government’s stance to isolate Taiwan from the international community by preventing and lobbying Taiwan’s ability to associate or join any group on the international stage. Moreover, relations between China and Taiwan are currently in the most tense.
