Ransomware affects Cencosud in Chile and Argentina

Cybercriminals have hacked the Chilean multinational Cencosud with a ransomware, effectively hijacking your systems in Chile and Argentina.

Notes demanding the million-dollar ransom were printed in the chain’s supermarkets in the countries mentioned.

In Buenos Aires, an Easy supermarket indicated that it is operating, but without some transactions such as returns, store pickup via web and card payments in installments, among others.

The ransomware is called Egregor, according to Segu Info. This is the successor to Maze that affected companies such as LG and Southwire last year.
