Emerging rapper KJ Balla was shot dead in Brooklyn, New York at the age of 23. Recently he released a music video in which he raped “not being able to die on the street”.
KJ Balla, also known as Kennedy Joseph Noel, was shot in the chest when a shooter fired five shots as he drove past a passing car on Friday night.
The shooting happened just before 10:00 PM. The rapper was about a mile from his house when he was shot. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where he died.
KJ Balla is known for its numbers Switch the Game and Strangers. A music video from 2017, Cookin Up, has been viewed more than 1.8 million times on YouTube.
Many of his lyrics focus on street violence and gunfights. His family says he was focused on his music career and was a born artist.
“He danced on the trains when he was little. Then he started rapping. He was really busy with his rap career and was waiting for it to really start,” said the rapper’s mom, Valencia Smith. Daily News.
A 26-year-old man who was with the rapper at the time of the shooting was shot in the back, abdomen and arm. He is expected to survive.
A motive for the murder has not yet been found.
