Kochi: The All Kerala Retail Ration Dealers Association is on a strong strike to protest against the government’s neglect. A protest dharna will be held in the district and taluk centers from 12 noon tomorrow. The state president Johnny Nellore said that if the government does not take complete measures, the shops will be closed and the strike will be led.
Johnny Nellore said that the ration traders were not paid the salary for August, the announced 1000 rupees festival allowance was not paid, and the government did not look back even after 65 ration traders died due to Covid.
When the food department met the minister with complaints, it was clear that sympathetic measures would be taken. The minister also said that the demand of traders is reasonable. However, the complaint is that the finance department’s opposition is exacerbating the crisis.
