Real Madrid regains the top of the Spanish League by four in Granada

Real Madrid regained the top spot in the Spanish Football League, after its valuable and deserved victory 4/1 against its host Granada, today, Sunday, in the fourteenth stage of the competition, which also witnessed a 4-0 victory over Getafe at its guest Cadiz.

The balance of Real, seeking to regain the title, which it lost last season in favor of its arch-rival Atletico Madrid, rose to 30 points from 13 games, to advance to the top by two points in front of its closest rivals Seville, equal with it in the same number of matches.

And the royal team, which has a postponed match, as is the case of Seville, may fall to the runners-up, if Real Sociedad, who is currently third with 28 points, beats its guest Valencia, later today in the same stage.

On the other hand, Granada, who received its sixth loss in the competition this season, with two wins and 5 draws, froze at 11 points in the eighteenth place (third from the bottom).

Marco Asensio opened the scoring for Real in the 19th minute, before Nacho Fernandez added the second goal in the 25th minute, but Colombian Luis Suarez reduced the difference, scoring a goal for Granada in the 34th minute.

The Brazilian Vinicius Junior added the third goal for Real in the 56th minute, after which the suffering of Granada, who played with ten players, doubled after his player Moncho Rodriguez was sent off in the 67th minute, followed by the expulsion of Roberto Moreno, the Andalusian team coach, to object to the referee.

Real, who won his ninth victory in the championship this season and the third in a row, took advantage of the numerical shortage in the ranks of his opponent, after Ferland Mendy scored the fourth goal in the 76th minute.

This meeting is considered a rehearsal for Real before its important meeting against its host Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova next Wednesday in the Champions League, as the white team seeks to collect the three points to reach the playoffs in the continental competition.

Getafe went to the bottom of the competition’s standings, after achieving a valuable and deserved 4-0 victory over its guest, Cadiz, earlier today.

The balance of Getafe, which achieved its second victory in the championship this season, rose to 9 points in 19th place (penultimate), while Cadiz’s balance stopped at 12 points in 16th place.

Getafe advanced early with a goal signed by Matias Oliveira Miramontes in the seventh minute, before his colleagues Jorge Cuenca and Enis Onal added the second and third goals in the 60th and 81st minutes, respectively.

Jaime Mata concluded the Getafe goals festival, scoring the fourth goal in the fourth minute of the calculated time instead of lost for the second half.

The match between Real Madrid and Granada began with an attack by Real, who threatened the goal early through Karim Benzema, who headed a header in the third minute, caught by Luis Maximiano, Granada goalkeeper.

Vinicius Junior shot from outside the penalty area in the 12th minute, but the ball went to Maximiano’s arms, before Asensio scored a goal for the royal team in the 19th minute.

Asenio received a through pass from Toni Kroos, to take the ball from the right side, before reaching the penalty area, and facing Maximiano, who went out of his net to meet him, to put the ball quietly to the right of the goalkeeper into the net.

Real took advantage of the confusion experienced by Granada’s defense after Asensio’s goal, to add Nacho’s second goal in the 25th minute.

Kroos took a corner kick from the left side, passing the ball to Luka Modric, who returned the ball to the German player, to send a crawl pass to Nacho, who is unmarked and directly in front of the goal. He did not find it difficult to deposit the ball into the net.

Granada players rushed to the attack in an attempt to reduce the difference, so that Real tried to take advantage of the empty spaces in the Andalusian team’s defense, which almost resulted in a third goal in the 32nd minute.

From an organized attack by Real, the ball reached Vinicius, who decided to leave the ball to Asensio, who is in a better position, to shoot without anyone’s supervision, but the ground broke away from Alberto Soro, defender of Granada, who removed the ball at the last minute from the goal line.

Contrary to the course of play, and from the first threat to Granada against Real, the hosts reduced the difference with a goal that came through Luis Suarez in the 34th minute.

Quini extracted the ball from Vinicius, to send the ball to Maxime Gonalons, who passed the ball to Suarez, to launch a crawling shell from outside the area, and the ball hit Nacho, to change its direction and into the net to the right of the Belgian Thibaut Courtois, who only looked at her while embracing the goal.

The morale of the Granada players rose after Suarez’s goal, and the host team almost scored the equalizer in the 40th minute, when Gonalons sent a cross pass from the left, Casemiro tried to clear it with his head, but he put the ball by mistake to the left of Courtois, who saved it with great difficulty to bounce from him and reach Quini , who shot quickly, putting the ball into the net from outside.

Real felt the embarrassment, and returned to his offensive activity again, and Benzema missed the opportunity to add another goal for the visitors in the 43rd minute, when he shot from the borders of the area to the right of Maximiano, who brilliantly removed the ball.

Only a minute passed, until Granada responded with a quick attack that ended with a shot from inside the area by Luis Suarez, which Courtois sent away to a corner that did not result in anything, so that the first half ended with Real’s 2-1 lead over Granada.

Real dominated the match at the beginning of the second half, as Dani Carvajal shot in the 47th minute, followed by two shots from Modric and Toni Kroos in the 50th and 52nd minutes, respectively, but without a threat to the goal.

Karim Benzema missed a real chance for Real in the 54th minute, as he received a through pass to be singled out for the goal, but he slowed down to shoot, so the defense kept the ball away from him.

Real translated its control of the match, after Vinicius scored the third goal for the visiting team in the 56th minute, as Casemiro passed the ball to Benzema, to go from the right side before sending the ball to Modric, who passed it directly to the Brazilian player, who shot from inside the area to guard the defense, into the net .

Granada’s first dangerous chance came during this half in the 60th minute, when Luis Suarez led an Antara attack from the left side, before reaching inside the area, but he threw the ball away from the goal.

Granada played with ten men after Moncho Rodriguez was sent off in the 67th minute for a violent clash with Vinicius, followed by a red card for Roberto Moreno two minutes later for his exaggerated objection to the referee’s decision.

Vinicius continued to threaten Granada’s goal again, and missed the opportunity to enhance the result in the 71st minute, as Benzema received a cross pass from the left side, to send the ball to the Brazilian wing, who shot, without harassment from anyone, from inside the area, but he put the ball easy in the hands of the Granada goalkeeper.

Benzema shot from inside the area in the 73rd minute, hit the defense before going out for a corner that resulted in nothing. The fourth goal came in the 76th minute through Ferland Mendy.

Mendy continued a cunning through pass from Casemiro, to be unique in the goal after breaking the offside trap set by the Granada defense, before hitting a neat ball from inside the area to Maximiano’s left and embracing the net.

The rhythm of the game calmed down relatively, especially on the part of Real, after its players reassured the result, which gave Granada the opportunity to enter again in the atmosphere of the match, as he missed the opportunity to reduce the difference in the 89th minute through Jorge Molina, who shot from inside the area, but Courtois pushed the ball away. A corner was not used, and the match ended with an easy victory for Real against Granada.
