Regenerative medicine and 3D printing technologies to treat myocardial infarction

In December 2020, the CARDIOPATCH project was born, which seeks to open new avenues for the treatment of myocardial infarction and provide solutions that improve the quality of life of patients.

The project, which will last until April 2023, focuses on the development of an “intelligent” patch of stem cells with the ability to regenerate tissues damaged by a heart attack. To do this, a patch will be created that will be made up of collagen membranes combined with stem cells. This patch will stimulate the formation of new blood vessels in the damaged area of ​​the heart, promoting its repair.
