After the meeting between the Grizzlies and the Pacers on January 29, associates of Ja Morant approached the Indiana staff. Several Pacers staff members testify to an altercation between them and several individuals. According to the witnesses, one of them had a “red laser”. But how did this happen?
Explanation: Shortly before, another altercation took place in the middle of the match, during the 3rd quarter of the match. This verbal contest would have opposed among others players of the Pacers and relatives of Ja, including his father, Tee Morant, and one of his friends, Davonte Pack. It was only after the encounter that the altercation took a more worrying turn.
Associates of Ja Morant verbally accosted Pacers personnel and someone trained a red laser on them from a nearby SUV postgame on Jan. 29.
“We felt we were in grave danger,” a person who was present said.
The NBA investigated the incident.

According to witnesses to the situation, Davonte Pack would have waited for the staff of the Pacers at the exit of the arena in an SUV. He was accompanied by several acquaintances, and would have – once in a gang – verbally threatened certain members of the technical team of the Pacers. One of Indy’s security guards would have detected that the men were armedwhile several testimonies speak of a mysterious red light, reported by the alleged victims as being a laser.
The altercation ended a few minutes later, when Ja Morant also left the room. The latter also left with Pack and his family in the SUV.
The NBA has decided to take the case in hand by launching an investigation to determine the veracity of the case and if Ja Morant is indeed linked to the latter. Davonte Pack was suspended from the venue for the rest of the year and Taylor Jenkins spoke at a press conference and said he had resolved the situation internally. The Grind City leader also spoke about the case, with a touch of irony that was probably unwelcome.
