Reopening of shops – Strange atmosphere in crowded Rues-Basses

Long lines stretch out in front of the big brands that welcome a small number of customers.

Rues-Basses crowded with masked Genevans. If the crowd is at the rendezvous on this first day of reopening of shops after four weeks of confinement, the atmosphere in the main shopping artery of the City offers a strange spectacle. Despite the comings and goings of customers, the atmosphere is particularly calm. Masks hide expressions and muffle the sound of conversations. The scene evokes a sequence of the Lumière brothers, more fluidity, less hats.

The brands and the motivations of consumers quickly remind us that we are well in 2020. Some stores attract more crowds than others. This is the case with the two sneaker stores, Foot Locker and Snipes. A long line of young people stretches out in front of the two stalls.
