Studio responsible for the development of Genshin Impact, HoYoverse, reveals what the player needs to do to enter Fontaine.

It was revealed how to enter the Fontaine region in Genshin Impact 4.0. The information was revealed by HoYoverse itself. The last update released was version 3.8, which debuted in early July 2023 and brought a new area called Miragem Veluriyam, a mythical forested location that has several minigames. With the debut of the new region at the end of August, it will be almost 1 year since Sumeru was released in the game.

Genshin Impact’s official Twitter profile revealed what the requirements are to enter the Fontaine region. When update 4.0 is released, it will be necessary to complete “Archon Quest Prologue: Act 3 Song of the Dragon and Freedom” to unlock the passage of the Farakhkert Kingdom etleport point. This teleport point will be located near the entrance to Fontaine, allowing you to fast travel between Sumeru and Fontaine.

Even though Fontaine is accessible to players who complete all of the Mondstadt story quests, HoYoverse recommends players follow through on all Sumeru story quests. However, it’s important to mention that doing optional area quests in Sumeru is not required to access Fontaine. That is, just focus on completing all of Sumeru’s main story quests.

Release and availability

The Fontaine region will debut in Genshin Impact 4.0, which is expected to be released at the end of August 2023. HoYoverse will live stream the new update. It is likely that the vast majority of Genshin players will already be able to enter the new region and will not need to do anything.
