Restrictions on road transit through the territory of the European Union do not apply to communication with the Kaliningrad region. This was announced by the Governor of the region Anton Alikhanov in his Telegram channel.
“Point b of paragraph 2 excludes transit between the Kaliningrad region and the rest of the Russian Federation from the scope of restrictions,” the head of the region wrote and attached a screenshot of a document published by the EU.
As New Kaliningrad wrote, the fifth package of sanctions against Russia approved by the European Union forbids including road transit of goods by Russian and Belarusian transport companies through the EU.
