Ricardo Rodríguez Vargas resigned from his post as director of the Institute to Give Back to the People the Stolen, government sources reported.

Rodríguez Vargas was in office for a year and 10 days and with him the auctions with a social sense.

On May 21, 2019 the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador appointed the then director general of the Treasury Administration and Disposal Service (SAE) as the director of the Institute to Return the Stolen to the People.

According to the officials consulted, the reason for Rodríguez’s departure was because his commission was to transform an opaque body on the destination of public resources into a transparent institution with clear accounts for citizens, a mission that has already been accomplished, they said.

Rodriguez Vargas organized the first auction with a social sense where luxury vehicles were put up for sale, which included a Lamborghini bat and whose resources were delivered to poor municipalities in Oaxaca.
