Colombo: Fast bowler Kane Richardson has been dropped from the Australian squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Richardson suffered a hamstring injury. The player was injured just before the final match of the three – match Twenty20. Ignoring this, Richardson came on and gave Sri Lanka a 19-run victory in the final over of the match.

Captain Dasun Shanaka hit Richardson and sent Sri Lanka the target. Despite losing the last match, Australia had already won the first two matches of the series. Criticism of the Australian management has also been high for fielding Richardson despite his injury.
