Rick Pitino, Stu Jackson and Jamal Mashburn potential buyers of Elan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez!

The Republic of the Pyrenees has just revealed on its site that Rick Pitino, Jamal Mashburn, and Stu Jackson have positioned themselves to take over the Elan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Mayor François Bayrou himself made the announcement to the club’s players and employees.

“It’s a huge blow that is being finalized in Béarn. The town hall of Pau and its agglomeration, largely majority shareholders in the SEM (semi-public company) Elan Béarnais, are on the verge of concretizing their desire to find a reliable buyer for Elan Béarnais. The objective: a gradual disengagement of the communities in favor of private shareholders in order to be able to change the statutes, from SEM to SASP (professional sporting limited company) ”, writes the Pau daily.

Currently coach of the University of Iona, Rick Pitino, 67, was previously that of the University of Kentucky with whom he was NCAA champion, in the NBA, of the Panathinaikos and he will be that of the national team of Greece for the next Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Stu Jackson, 65, was also a coach, then general manager and executive vice-president in the NBA.

Past the University of Kentucky, Jamal Mashburn (2.03m), 48, played 12 seasons and 611 NBA games averaging 19.1 points, and was All-Star in 2003.
