Rising Oral Cancer Deaths: Know the Symptoms and Risks

2023-11-09 10:58:00

Dentists have warned that deaths from oral cancer have risen by up to 46%.

Scientists said that unusual lumps, bumps, and unexplained fatigue are strong signs of oral cancer, according to The Sun.

The scientists added that the voice becoming harsh is one of the lesser known symptoms among patients, but it is a common symptom of oral cancer.

Latest figures from the Oral Health Foundation (OHF) showed that cases of the disease rose by 12% last year.

According to cancer research, the voice may become thicker or quieter, especially if the cancer is near the back of the throat. This is a sign of hypopharyngeal cancer, a rare form of the disease.

Statistics indicate that there are 9,860 cases of oral cancer in the United Kingdom, and deaths related to the disease are on the rise, with more than 3,000 people killed in 2021.
