Several regions affected
The sectors affected by storm potential are from the Outaouais to the Saguenay, including northern Quebec. Part of Montérégie, Estrie and Chaudières-Appalaches could also see the formation of storm cells during the day. Small hailstones could be born from the sky in western Quebec.
Two pulses are also planned for lightning in the south: a first in the morning and a second in the afternoon. Lightning potential will then migrate eastward in the evening.
Steady rain
The rain should increase in intensity in the afternoon near Montreal, to migrate towards Quebec City later in the evening. During this period, overlapping thunderstorms would be possible. The greatest amounts of rain are forecast between Quebec and Bas-Saint-Laurent. Up to 30 mm are possible by Thursday evening.
