Rodolfo Hernández: judge says his case should go to the Supreme Court – Research – Justice

At around 9:20 a.m. this Thursday, the trial hearing began for alleged irregularities in a consulting contract on the El Carrasco landfill in Santander, when Rodolfo Hernandez he served as mayor of Bucaramanga.

Although Hernández is one of those investigated in this process, he did not appear at the hearing and his defense told the judge that his client took office as a congressman on July 20, with which his process should go to the Supreme Court of Justice.

The judge explained that in the face of this supervening situation, he lost jurisdiction and the case should go to the Special Chamber of First Instance of the Supreme Court, which will analyze the case to continue with the process.

But this is only in front of Hernández, clarified the robed man, who pointed out that there are other people in the process who do not have congressional privileges.

“This judge has lost jurisdiction in the trial phase in the case exclusively followed against Rodolfo Hernandez Suarez; in front of other people, this judge continues to be the natural judge,” the judge explained.

In this case, former officials Rubén Enrique Amaya, head of final disposition, are also being investigated; César Fontecha, former legal director; Abelardo Durán Leiva, former technical and operational deputy manager; Abigail León, former administrative and financial deputy director; and the contractor Jorge Hernán Alarcón Ayala.

According to the investigation, the defendants would have participated in irregularities in the signing of a contract for 344,950,000 pesos initiated on August 3, 2016 and delivered to Alarcón Ayala.
